After 4 weeks, 7 countries, 194 teams, and more than 4,300 participants, Road Worlds for Seniors 2019 has come to an end, but only after our cyclists pedaled an impressive 108,412km!

In the end, Oslo, Furuset seniorsenter in Norway rode into first place with a total 10,511km travelled. Bruyere Village in Ottawa, Ontario finished in a strong second.

You can check out the list of top 100 teams and the top 25 individual male and female finishers here.

The championship had almost double the amount of participants it had last year, and being able to travel around to various homes to visit was a real highlight for us. While the championship is a friendly competition that brings care homes across the world together in spirit, it’s also an opportunity to increase residents’ activity levels and expose them to familiar landscapes. These alone have tremendous benefits for seniors and adults with dementia.
